Privacy Policy

Blockpic is a tool for making a profile picture out of a Minecraft skin. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. This page describes everything it does with your data, which is almost nothing.

The short version

• There is no sign-up and no sign-in. We do not know who you are, and there is no account for us to hold data in.
• Skin files you upload are never sent to our server. They are read and rendered inside your browser.
• Your theme and any poses you save stay in your own browser and are never sent to us.
• This site sets no cookies at all. We do not embed any third-party scripts or fonts.
• The only thing we ever store is a message you deliberately send through the feedback form.
• We never sell or share personal data.

Who is responsible for your data

Blockpic operates this site and decides how the data described here is used. The way to reach us is the feedback form in the editor — it doesn't need an email address to use.

What we collect, and why

If you use the editor

Nothing is stored about you. Skin images you drag in or select are read directly by your browser and rendered on your own device — the file is never uploaded to us. The finished PNG is produced in your browser and saved by your browser. Anything you draw in the Skin Editor is drawn on your own device too.

If you look up a Minecraft username

The username you type is sent to our server, which asks Mojang's public API for that player's skin and passes the image back to you. So that searching the same name twice does not have to ask Mojang again, a copy of the skin image is kept on our server for about five minutes. After that it is no longer used, and it is deleted the next time anyone looks up a skin. The copy is filed under a scrambled code made from the username rather than the username itself, and it is not linked to you or to whoever searched.

If you save a pose

Named poses are saved in your browser's own local storage, on your device. They are never sent to us, so we cannot see them, and they do not follow you to another browser or another device. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

If you send us feedback

The feedback form only ever stores the message you write, plus an email address if you chose to add one so we can reply — that field is optional and left blank by default. Nothing identifies who sent it unless you put that in the message yourself. We keep messages only as long as we need them to read and respond, then delete them.

Server logs

Like almost all web servers, ours records basic technical information about requests — IP address, time, the page or file requested, and your browser's user-agent string. This is used to keep the service running and to investigate abuse or errors, and it is never used to build any profile of you.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. Your theme choice, any poses you save, and the dismissal of the notice at the bottom of the page are kept in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, because there are no cookies. Full details are in the Cookies Policy.

Who else is involved

• Mojang / Microsoft — when you look up a username, our server queries Mojang's public profile and session APIs. The request comes from our server, not from your browser, so Mojang does not receive your IP address.
• Our hosting provider — stores the site and its database on our behalf.
• Buy Me a Coffee — only if you choose to click that link, at which point you leave this site and their privacy policy applies.

There are no third-party scripts, fonts, embeds, or content delivery networks on this site. The 3D library and the typeface are served from our own server, so no other company is told that you visited.

How long we keep things

Feedback messages are kept only until they have been read and dealt with, then deleted. Server logs are short-lived and kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Everything else — your theme, your saved poses, the skin you are working on — is on your own device, and you control it by clearing your browser data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to its use, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

In practice there is very little for these to apply to: without accounts, the only thing we hold is a feedback message if you chose to send one. To have one found and deleted, or to make any other request, use the feedback form in the editor — mention enough detail for us to identify the earlier message.

Children

The editor is open to anyone and asks for no personal details, so there is nothing for a child to sign up to or hand over. Please do not put personal information about yourself or anyone else into the feedback form.

Security

The less that is stored, the less there is to protect: there are no accounts, no passwords, and no cookies on this site. The site is served over HTTPS in production.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
